My palace (student halls, duh!)

So when I signed my life away for the next three years to go to university I also had to take the biggest step I have taken in my life so far... MOVING AWAY FROM HOME *cries*. On the 20th of September 2013 I spent the last night in my house before moving away, I wasted most of that night drunk and the other half crying on my boyfriend Jacks shoulder about how I was 'just going to stay, you can't stop me.' This sounds awful I know, but seriously the moment I stepped into my new flat and met my flat mates (who are now some of my best friends) all the tears from the night before started to dry.. Although the hangover still lingered!

I live in student accommodation which is a 10 minute bus ride from my uni, it is a unite building and they provide flats for uni's all around the country! Living in student halls is noisy, messy and tiring but an opportunity you shouldn't miss! You just need to put up with the occasional water fight and coming home to mince meat smeared over the front door, (thank you flat 303!). As gross as that is, it has to be admitted I live for the nights spent running through the corridors armed with a water baloon! I share my flat with five girls and not only do I have a snazzy PINK feature wall, I also have an en-suite! THANK GOODNESS! The kitchen is shared between the 6 of us and is pretty dull and basic although we have tried to lighten the place up with bunting and shamefully we neglected to ever take our christmas decorations down, oh dear! We have gained a reputation in our building as the cutest little flat in the block, and that we are!

The kitchen at christmas, oh so festive!

So the first time I saw my room for the year, my mum and I squeezed in with my ridiculous pile of stuff and it was all pretty bare and I thought PLEASE DONT LEAVE ME HERE!!!!
I really did believe this was all essential...

But with a bit of razzle dazzle and a lot of junk later I created a room which I am proud to call my home away from home!

where all the 'work' takes place of course!

And yes, the bed is actually very comfy!
In a few weeks to follow I will be doing a post with a more detailed view of my
bedroom and tips on how to decorate your room for you uni!
All in all, moving away from home was nowhere near as scary as it seemed, all I have to do is pick up the phone!

Juicy Jottings coming up:
Uni room and decor advice, my freshers week, what to bring to uni and much much more!

Thanks for listening!

  3. I went to Coventry uni and stayed in unite accommodation, it looked exactly the same as this, but sadly without the pink wall!

Living in student accommodation can be pretty noisy & messy but I miss it!
